William Edgar Phillips , 93, of Pensacola, Florida died on September 1, 2020 at Sacred Heart Hospice Care.
He was born in Laurel Hill, Florida and grew up on a farm and was raised with twelve brothers and sisters. Edgar wasn’t the oldest, he was always ready to step up and do whatever he needed to for the family. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He never married but his survivors are his remaining brothers and sisters and are as follows: Addie Norris, Howard Phillips, Thomas J. Phillips, Jr. and Betty Madden.
Edgar was drafted in the Army at the age of 27 during the Korean War. He worked most of his life in the medical department of prisons for the State of Florida and Escambia General Hospital of Pensacola. He was a Master of Masons of Escambia Lodge of Pensacola, Florida for 55 years. Also, he was a member of Olive Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at from 11am until the service begins at 12pm with Ministers; Thomas Phillips and Randy Missildine officiating. A graveside service will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
