Timothy William Cantrell • October 18, 2019
Timothy William Cantrell, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 18, 2019 after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tim was born on March 2, 1962 in Pensacola, Florida to Raymond and Elsie Cantrell. He was a 1980 graduate of Pensacola High School. Tim recently retired from a 30 year career with the Escambia County School District where he worked as a long time teacher with special needs children and later as a landscape maintenance technician. He touched many young lives throughout that time and he enjoyed seeing all of their successes.
Tim’s love was the beach, Dallas Cowboys football, and time spent with his family and friends sharing huge meals. He had a love for all things outdoors and he especially enjoyed his time spent in Rome, Ga. at the family home.
Tim was known for many things, but two things that always stood out, he was never late to anything and he had a huge tribe of family and friends that knew they could always count on him. No job or task was ever too big or too small, he was a “doer”. Tim was also an amazing father to his three children and they too knew they could always count on him. He was very proud of his children and he loved them unconditionally.
He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Cantrell; mother Elsie Cantrell and his older brother, Raymond Hart.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Nicole Cantrell Blackwell (Ian); sons, Connor Cantrell (Lauren) and Britain Cantrell (Katie); grandsons, Brayden Blackwell, Trevor Cantrell, Kiptyn Smith and Brooks Cantrell; granddaughters Karli and Kaysen Cantrell; sisters, Linda Beahr, Brenda Cantrell (Tami) and Renee Cantrell (Heather); niece Leslie Beahr Sheets; nephew, Rodney Beahr; great nieces Madison and Makalah Sheets, and a companion, Cathy Money.
Tim was a beloved, father, brother, G-pa and friend to all that knew him and he will be forever missed and always remembered.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the many friends and family that have been so supportive during this difficult time; also to Dr. Tarek Eldawy, Dr. Alexander Brown, nurses and staff with Sacred Heart Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Covenant Care Hospice.
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 5pm until 7pm and the service on Thursday, October 24th at 2pm at the funeral home.
