Robert Reed, 92, of Pensacola passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019.
Mr. Reed was born in McCullough, AL to John William Reed and Amy Inez Ross on February 23, 1927. After a career in the U S Army where he received two Purple Hearts, Mr. Reed had a second career with Armstrong World Industries.
Preceding Mr. Reed in death are his parents, John William Reed and Amy Inez Ross; wife, Evelyn Reed; daughter, Gaynell Payne; grandson, Curtis Nelson; siblings, Leroy Reed, Louise White, John Reed, Montez Reed, Joe Reed, Helen McLain,Wesley Reed and Francis Reed.
Survivors include his brother, Kenneth “T-Bo” Reed; sister, Mary Booker; daughter, Melba Reeves (Bobby); grandchildren, Tricia Crain (Troy), Keith Nelson (Melissa), Lisa Hudson, Lana Elkins (Corey) and Millie Reeves; great grandchildren, Tina Vines, Laura Frost, Cody Nelson, Jake Nelson Logan Nelson, Shea Nelson, Hunter Hudson and Jackson Elkins; great-great grandchildren, Leilani Rivera, Jude Frost, Sky Nelson and Henley Hudson.
A funeral service will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior the the service,

    Don’t grieve for him for now he’s free. he’s followed the path God has laid to see. he took his hand when he heard him call. he turned his back and left it all. he could not stay another day to laugh to love to work or play. things left undone must stay that way.for now he has found peace at the end of the day.
