Robert Curtis Knight, 81 passed away peacefully in his home on October 16, 2020 in Pensacola, Florida.
He was a Navy veteran who served 21 years and retired in Pensacola, Florida. He then served 20 more years in Civil Service, dedicating half his life to serving his country.
He was a great man who was a beloved husband and father, and whose kind heart and actions helped many others throughout his life. He dedicated the remainder of his life helping others thru sobriety.
His number one passion in life was Alabama Crimson Tide Football, the greatest team to ever play the game. He stood in the stands as a teenager, and watched his idol, Bart Star play and he watched every national title and never missed a game.
He will never be forgotten and remembered always for his kind heart and spirit.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Whittington and Tommy Knight.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Gayle; children, Kathy, Chuck, Sandy, Chris and Shari; grandkids, Christopher, Kevin, Athena, Kenny, Holly and Ryan; several great-grandchildren; as well as his beloved dog, Gypsy.
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 10am until the service begins at 11am with a procession to Barrancas National Cemetery to follow.
