Reverend John L. Franklin, Sr. • October 13, 2020

Reverend John L. Franklin, Sr., 78, of Pace, Florida went home to be with the Lord on October 13, 2020. John was born to Jessie Jones Franklin and William Benjamin Franklin on September 8, 1942 in Pace, Florida. John’s life was forever changed when he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and was called to preach in 1960 at the age of 18. God sent him his lifelong help mate in Dolores at the age of 19 and they started their journey together in ministry. John pastored numerous churches in Northwest Florida and spent time on the evangelistic field before going to the inner city of New Orleans to establish a home missions church. While in New Orleans, John and Dolores were blessed with their two children, Janna and Johnny. John later founded a church in Navarre and ultimately founded Crown Church. He retired from ministry after 52 years. While John was an excellent minister, he believed the mark of a true man of God was how he honored his wife, loved his children, and led his family. John has influenced countless lives for the cause of Christ and leaves a legacy of faith in God that can never be erased.
John is preceded in death by his mother and father Jessie and Benny Franklin. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty eight years, Dolores Franklin; his children Janna Hoynacki (Bill) and Johnny Franklin (Brandy) and number one grandson, John Daniel Franklin.; sisters Myrl Moore and Clara Oxendine (Butch), brothers Bill Franklin (Brenda), Leon Franklin (Debbie), and Bo Franklin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Crown Church, 9600 North Palafox Street, until the celebration begins at 5:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Bill Hoynacki, John Daniel Franklin, Jason Oxendine, Randy Allred, Cliff Pack, and Craig Seymour.
