Preston Thompson, age 78, of Cantonment, Florida, passed away June 4, 2022. He was born December 4, 1943 in Lillian, AL to Truett and Sally Thompson.
Preston was a hard worker and started working when he was just 8 years old. He retired from Armstrong Industrial in 1986 after 23 years of service. While working at Armstrong he established Thompson’s Farm Fresh Produce/Emerald Coast Produce in 1970, and was a successful business man in the produce industry for 50 years. He was known for his incredible work ethic. Preston was a family man, who loved his wife Connie of 60 years dearly. He took pride in providing for them and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandbabies more than anything.

Preston was preceded in death by Sherry Thompson (Daughter), Truett and Sally Thompson (Parents), Billy, Jimmy, Johnny, Danny, and David Thompson (Brothers), and Patty Thompson (Sister).

Survivors include his beloved wife, Connie; Son, Bobby (Jana) Thompson; Daughter, Lisa (Tim) Stokes; Granddaughters: Ashley (Ryan) Spikes and Amber (Jerry) Halfacre; Grandson, Eric Thompson; Great Grandchildren: Cooper, Presley, Carson, Reese, Harper and Lennox; Brother, Charles Thompson; Sister, Kathleen Thompson; and, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10 from 12:30-2:00 pm with funeral services following at 2:00 pm at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, interment will immediately follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens with Tim Stokes, Eric Thompson, Bill Thompson Jr., Ryan Spikes, Jerry Halfacre, Niel Grissom serving as pallbearers and Cooper Halfacre, Carson Spikes, and Reese Spikes serving as honorary pallbearers.
