Beloved mother, sister and friend, Nancy Lee McGrath passed away peacefully on May 20, 2023.
Nancy was born in 1953 to Harvey and Ruth Thorn in Hollywood, Florida. The family eventually settling in the Pensacola area.
As a teen Nancy was an avid roller skater and could be found most weekends with her sisters and brothers dominating the rink. Graduating from Escambia High School in 1971. She later attended George Stone Technical College with a study in Medical Coding and Administrative Assistant.
Over the years Nancy has worked in many fields including florist, child care, heavy machine operator (driving a dump truck), owning both a Restaurant on Pensacola Beach and a Home Cleaning Business.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Ruth Thorn and brother, Gene Thorn. She is survived by her loving daughter Cassandra McGrath; sisters, Lepha Fuqua, Roseitta Blohm, Anne Wilson, Jane Thorn; brothers, William, Richard, Michael Thorn; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to Covenant Care at Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola. Special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Inpatient Hospice Center. Interment will be at Pensacola Memorial Gardens on Friday, June 16, 2023 beginning at 10:00am.
