Mary Bedsole Andrews • August 20, 2022

On August 20 Mary Bedsole Andrews, 90, died peacefully in the arms of her family after a fast and furious battle with heart complications. Mary and Charles P. Andrews, Sr., recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.
Mary is the daughter of Ray and Vircey Bedsole of Ponce de Leon, Florida. Mary and Charles are the parents of 3 children, Linda Dawson, Charles P Andrews, Jr., and Sherry AliFarhani; grandparents of 10; great-grandparents of 21; and great-great-grandparents of 1.
Everyone who knew her grieves the passing of this vibrant, smiling woman who loved welcoming and cooking for those who stopped by her home in Columbus, Georgia, or Pensacola, Florida. Mary/Mimi and Charles ( Buddy to family and friends and Andy at Gulf Power) lived an active life of camping, boating and skiing, bowling, square dancing, and church activities at Pine Forest Methodist Church. As the heart of her large family, Mimi provided countless country style meals with roasts, chicken and dumplings, hot dogs and “the stuff”, mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables, cornbread, rolls, banana pudding, pound cakes, sweet tea, and our favorite breakfast foods, biscuit toast, cheese grits, and toads-in-the-hole. No one left her table hungry or unloved!
Mary was also a talented pianist who shared her love of music with family, various churches, and young piano students. Her homes were filled with music, cards and board games, Wii games, laughter, and good times. The spring-fed lake in Pensacola was both the peaceful retreat for Charles and Mary as well as the fun family playground all summer.
She will be long missed. May she truly rest in peace knowing she was very very loved.
The family will receive friends at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 1pm till the service begins at 2pm.

We will miss you so much! They welcomed us to the neighborhood 18 years ago, we consider them family! Just went to their 75th anniversary, beautiful, loving couple and family. Our hearts hurts, but she is in a good place.

Mary was a beautiful, gracious lady. She was an important member of our church small group, Daughters of the King. She was a blessing to each of the ladies in our group. She will missed more than I can say. She was loved dearly. May God surround your family and give you peace beyond understanding

  4. Rhonda Mathews says:

My Goodness. My family square danced for years at Ragon Hall way back when and I ADORED Mary and Buddy. These were the best years of my life. I never did see her without a smile on her face. She was beautiful inside and out. My Mom told me last week she had just seen her. My deepest condolences to the family and to her sweet Buddy. Rhonda (Simmons) Mathews, Dot and Don Griffith

My mother was a gift of joy and light to so many. Ninety years was short for someone who loved life, family, friends, and neighbors as she did. Thank you, God, for sharing her before taking her back home.

  7. Ingrid Dalton says:

To Buddy and the Andrews Family,
My heartfelt condolences on the passing of Mary.
She was a kind, sweet and wonderful person.
Her love for family, friends and neighbors was evident to everyone who had the privilege of meeting or knowing her.
She was a caring and concerned neighbor while my late husband James was very I’ll. She and Buddy were our neighbors when residing in Columbus. My husband would affectionately call them “the young couple !”. I shall miss Mary enormously every time I look out the window and will not see her walking by and the wonderful conversations we shared while having some coffee.
May Mary’s precious soul find rest in God’s loving arms and may wonderful memories give you strength in your grief until you’ll meet again.
You are in my thoughts and prayer.
    Sincerely,
    Ingrid (Dalton)

  8. Tammy Guman Conner says:
