Maia Potter Carlstrom, age 47, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. She was born May 20, 1973, in Newport, RI, to Frank and Adrianne Potter. She was a 1991 graduate of Santaluces High School in Lake Worth, Florida, and went on to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Advertising at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 1995. While in school she worked at and managed the Texas Roadhouse and then became an advertising representative with Naylor Publications after graduation. She met and married Henry Carlstrom and with his young daughter, Taylor moved to Prattville, Alabama. In 2001 their son, Dalton was born there. They moved to Pensacola in 2004. Maia was a devoted mother and wife, a mindful daughter, and a loyal friend. She loved laughter and the company of friends, participating in the children’s school activities, finding ways to care and give to others, and was vigilant in her life choices. She is survived by her children, Dalton, Taylor Carlstrom, and Keysha Downs; mother and stepfather, Adrianne and William Halford; her stepmother, Susan Potter; brothers, Eric T. Potter and Michael N. Potter; sister, Traci L. Costa; step-brother, Haynes Johnson; aunt and uncle, Douglas and Nancy Halford; and aunt, Dianne Schuessler. Family, friends, and others whose lives Maia touched are invited to the Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 7433 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola, FL 32526, Saturday, December 19th. Visitation, family only, will be from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Indoor services to reminisce and celebrate her life begins at 2:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers are Eric and Mike Potter, Matt Costa, Martin Downs, Chris Averill, and Hobie Tindall. In place of flowers, those who wish may donate to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N 12th Ave, Pensacola, Florida, 32504. It is extremely important to consider the pandemic we are living with now and the risk of infection or transmission of the virus. Arrangements have been made to provide a webcast for those who would prefer to quarantine or avoid affecting others.
