John Jacob Cawthon, 74, of Pensacola, Florida passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013.
Born in Century, Florida, he resided locally for the past 56 years. A surveyor with Gulf Power, he retired after 44 years of dedicated work. His hobbies included fishing, cooking and grilling. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Preceded in death are his parents, Robert and Ruby Cawthon; his son, John Jacob Cawthon, Jr.; an aunt, Josephine Anderson and a granddaughter, Kathleen N. Foxworth.
Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Lee (Kindred) Cawthon; daughters, Barbara J. Dubose and her husband, Gary Dubose, Anna M. Stewart and her husband, Ronnie Stewart, Rita N. Jerkins and her husband, Jason Jerkins; granddaughter, April L. Couey and her husband, James Couey and great-granddaughter, Ariel N. Couey; grandson, Ronson S. Stewart; granddaughter, Amber M. Carpenter and her husband, Timothy Carpenter and Emily Carpenter, great-granddaughter and Ethan Carpenter, great-grandson; granddaughter, Candice M. Machak and her husband, Matt Machak and Julie Machak, great-granddaughter and great-grandsons, Levi Lowery and Maliki Machak; grandson, Kenneth R. Foxworth and his wife, Brandy Foxworth and great-granddaughters, Katelynn N. Foxworth, Miley R. Foxworth and Evelynn N. Foxworth and one brother, Alton Cawthon.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, Garden of Hope (117 A-1) with Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home directing. Officiating clergy is Chaplain Ken Griffin.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 North 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504 in memory of John Jacob Cawthon, Sr.
