Janet Rose Williams, 82, of Pensacola, Florida passed away September 26, 2022.
Janet was the oldest of six children. She married the love of her life, James Williams, in 1959. She and James had four lovely children to whom they dedicated their entire lives.

Janet was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cooked, cleaned, and made the house a home. She worked at Gayfer’s Department Store for almost 15 years where she met many wonderful friends and loved her co-workers and customers. She never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She loved cooking for everyone and shared her life with all she knew. She had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room and she would never let you go away hungry.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Williams; her parents, Troy and Evelyn Morris; and her sister, Susan Shelton.

She is survived by her daughters, Diana Melton (Mark), Kim Baird (Mac), Lynda Cotton (Art); son, Jimmy Williams (Vikki); grandchildren: Jacob Cotton (Angelina), Branden Williams, Nick Williams (Brook), Timmy Williams (Lizzy), Joshua Melton (Tamara), Samantha Polanco (Leo), Kerry Oulidi (Mohamed), Chris White (Lynzie), Emily White, Aimee Gainey (Michael), and Katee Cotton; great-grandchildren: Jordynn, Addison, Parker, Brooklynn, Sebastian, Cristiano, Emilia, Amir, Dallas, Scarlett, Ava, James, Reid, and Mia; brothers: Troy Morris (Linda), Patrick Morris (Katherine), Timothy Morris (Diane); sister, Barbara Sciple (Joe); sisters-in-law, Sandra Williams and Bobbie Hartley; brother-in-law, Bubba Williams (Mary).

Special thanks to Mom’s nurse Jo, and all of the loving and caring staff at Covenant Hospice, and to all of our family and friends that showed mom and us all so much love during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral home on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 1:00pm with services to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Covenant Hospice.

    May the loving memories of your mother help to ease your suffering. Saying goodbye to someone as important as your mother is always going to be terrible but I hope the strength we all know you have will help you to get through this grief. May her memory always be with you

    Janet made everyone feel like the most special person on the planet. If she was talking to you directly, she made you feel that way. And anyone that she spoke about was always as if they were an absolute rockstar. Always love that about her.
