Jane Douty Lirette joined her beloved husband of 45 years Richard in
Jane grew up in Cumberland Maryland’s Allegany Mountains and attended
Allegany High School which gave her immense friendship and joy for
over 60 years.
She worked for Celanese Corporation until she moved to Pensacola in 1957.
Jane joined Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in 1962, served on the Alter
Guild for 30 years
and met her blue eyed best friend Dick there in 1973. They both served
as EYC Youth
Advisors and loved taking groups of teenagers to the beach on Sundays
after church for
She also enjoyed watching the family grow and supporting grandchildren
in special activities.
The University of West Florida is where Jane loved to be, starting her
career in the
Vice Presidents Office in 1969, And retiring in 1989.
Mom loved her family and friends fiercely, her gentle spirit will be a
part of our hearts forever. She liked to think of herself as a kind
Jane is survived by five children, Mike & Susan Lirette Lee, Clayton &
Tom Gottily, Kathy and Richard E. Lirette, Jr. and Karen Gottily Gauvey:
eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren, and her brother, Paul Frank Douty and his wife, Laurel Douty.
She is also proceeded in death by her parents, Hannah Jane and Paul Douty; and
sister and brother-in-law,Jean and Donald Oberholzer.
Family and Friends will celebrate her life, Wednesday, July 8th,2020.
Pensacola Memorial Gardens Chapel.
Visitation and service begin at 9:00a.m. for a small group followed by
a public graveside ceremony for all family and friends.
