James Thomas “Tommy” Gallman, 72, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at his daughter’s residence in Jacksonville, Florida following a brief illness. Tommy was born in Charlotte, NC on February 26, 1947, to the late J.W. & Frances Turner Gallman. After graduating from Tate High School in 1965, Tom earned himself an Economics Degree from the University of West Florida in 1976. He retired after serving more than 28 years at the U.S. Small Business Administration. Tommy greatly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing softball and golf. When he wasn’t outside, Tommy was learning to play the guitar or playing games on his computer.
His surviving family includes 3 daughters: Shelley (Charlie) Chattin, Kelley (Chad) Joneson and Brandy (Brian) Wesson; 7 grandchildren: Hunter, Christin, Marina, Skyler, Katie, Anna Grace, and Jake; 3 sisters & 1 brother: Nancy (Eric) Smith, David Gallman, Cyndi (Charlie) Thompson and Susan (Gus) Uebelsteadt; significant other, Mary Murawski and extended family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM (CST) on Friday, December 20, 2019, at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (CST) prior to the service. Because of the wonderful care that was given during his illness, his family requests Memorial contributions be designated to Gastroenterology Research at Mayo Clinic and can be made online at www.mayoclinic.com/development
