James “Paul” Hawke Jr., age 67 of Pensacola, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Paul was born on September 25, 1954 in Pensacola to the late James Sr. and Sadye Hawke. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Emily Jewell.

Paul proudly served his community as an Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputy where he retired after 31 years of honorable service as a Sergeant. He is leaving behind a legacy and will forever be missed by all that knew him.

Those left to treasure his memory include, his wife, Julie Hawke; son, Jamie Hawke; step-daughters, Jennifer Sumner and Jessica Perry; mother-in-law, Valda Waters; daughter-in-law, Heather Hawke; sons-in-law, Matthew Sumner and Donald Perry; twelve grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, Cody, Talon, John, Lily, Clayton, Kaylee, Austin, Cameron, Mackenzie, and Jaiden.

On April 1st a visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30AM followed by a funeral at 10:30AM, taking place at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home at 7433 Pine Forest Road Pensacola, Florida 32526.

    Paul was one of my field training officers back in the 1980s . We worked many shifts over the years. He was always calm professional and in control.A fine role model for new officers. He was genuine. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. May God Bless him and his family and grant eternal rest to and welcome him with ” well-done faithful servant.
