James “Jim” Edward Loftin, Sr. 80, of Pace, FL and formerly of Albany, GA died March 29, 2023.
He was born in Dothan, AL on December 27, 1942 to Charles and Helen Loftin. Jim was a US Veteran who served in the Army National Guard. He was also a member of Margaret Street Church of Christ. Jim was an excellent athlete. After graduating from Escambia High School in 1961, he attended Florida State University on a football and baseball scholarship. He spent 40 years in sales and management in the corrugated packing business.
Jim was preceded in death by his twin brother who died three days after birth; parents, Henry and Helen Loftin; sister, Sara Loftin Speer; and cousin, Mickey Smith.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Linda Jackson Loftin; son, Jim Loftin, Jr. (Beverly); daughter, Leslie Loftin Partridge (Wayne); granddaughter, Sidney Loftin; brother-in-law, Tom Speer; neice, Stephanie Speer Brown (Matt) and cousin Dickey Smith.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 10-11am Monday, April 3, 2023 with funeral to take place at 11:00am. The family would like to extend their special thanks to their church family at Margaret Street Church of Christ and their wonderful neighbors.

The love Jim and Linda shared was a model of trust and enduring admiration for each other and a classic example for others to attempt to emulate.
They exhibited love and heartfelt respect for one another and all the friends they loved.
Jim’s leadership and camaraderie at Escambia High School put EHS on the map!
Thanks Jim for all you did to make The Rebel of 1961 legendary and proud.
Surely, you and your legend will live in.your classmates hearts for ever!

I never met Mr. Loftin. However, I have known his son Jim for many years. By love and prayers to the entire family. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you and give you peace.

I still can hardly believe this has happened. Linda and Jim were such a sweet couple. I missed seeing Jim this morning at church.
