Jack Rodney “Rod” Bonner • August 9, 2021

Jack Rodney “Rod” Bonner, age 78 of Milton, Florida passed away on August 9, 2021. He was born in Memphis, Texas to Olen Jack Bonner and Johnnie Mae Weatherly.

Rod loved his Family, his Country and Auburn Football. He was employed by American Cyanamid – Cytec/Sterling Fibers as a millwright for over 40 years and was a member of Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. Rod coached youth t-ball, baseball and football for over 10 years.

Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Olen & Johnnie Bonner; and his brother Johnny Mack Bonner.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret “Ann” Bonner; his daughters, DeLana B. Drummond (Mike) and Stephanie B. Rowland; his son, Jack Rodney “Rod” Bonner II (Ashley); 6 grandchildren, Dustin Drummond, Darby Rowland, Amber D. Setian (Andrew), Devon R. Johnson, Madyson Bonner, and Cameron Bonner; 4 great-grandchildren, Daryk Bonner Rowland, Bo Rodney Johnson, Anna Grace Johnson, Emmie James Setian; 3 sisters, Olene Cox, Jean Boudwin and Gloria Dehon; and his companion, Daisy.

A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Sunday, August 15, 2021 beginning at 11:30AM, followed by a service at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Pastor Doug Rhodes will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be; Rod Bonner, Mike Drummond, Cameron Bonner, Kevin Higginbotham, Aaron Gardner, John Paul Rhodes, Jody Bonner and Kieran Crowe and Honorary Pallbearers will be; Daryk Bonner Rowland, Mike Brown, George Garrett, Andy Lashley, Chad Daffren, Graham Pearce.

Masks will be required during the visitation and service at the family’s request.

The family would like to thank all of the families, friends, & co-workers who have called, provided food, sent messages and texts checking on our family and to see what they could do for us. For all the many people near and far who prayed for us and with us this past week and who continue to pray for our peace, comfort, and strength, we are truly grateful.
