Hazel Ruth Tharp Sutley, 86, went to her heavenly home on Monday, October 10th, 2022. Hazel was born September 21st, 1936 to William and Emma Tharp. She lived in Pensacola most of her life and graduated from Pensacola High School in 1954. Hazel met Charles Sutley at Brent Baptist Church and they were married in 1956. They soon joined Hillcrest Baptist Church and became active members. Hazel taught 10-year-old girls in Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the WMU (Women’s Mission Union.)

Hazel was a loving wife to Charles, a caring mother to her son, Donald Sutley and his wife Elizabeth, and their daughter Gayla Arnold and her husband Gary, as well as a giving granny to her granddaughter, Laura Arnold, and her grandson, Ethan Sutley.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Sutley, her parents, and her siblings Miller Tharp, Jesse Tharp and Mary Ellen Harris.

She will be deeply missed by her sister, Patricia Harrison, and brother, Wayne Tharp, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her loving family.

Visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, October 14th, 2022 at 9:30am service will follow at 10:30am with Brother Jim Locke officiating.

The family would like to thank Vitas HealthCare Hospice for the kind and gentle care that was given to Mom during the past 7 weeks.
