Harry “Keith” Meador Sr, of Escambia County, Florida, entered the gates of Heaven on October 5, 2019. He was born on March 12, 1932 to Clarence and Virgie Patsel Meador, in Franklin County Virginia. Keith graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1952. He then attended and graduated from VPI Technical and was employed as a Tool and Die maker for 65 years. Keith married the love of his life July 5, 1958 and decided to move his family to Pensacola in 1962 when he accepted a position with Monsanto. While working at Monsanto he built and co-owned Mercury Machining in 1967, finally retiring from Northwest Florida Machine shop in 2006. Keith was an avid Mustang collector for many years and a member of the local Gulf Coast Mustang Club as well as an active member in the Moose and Elks lodges. He enjoyed taking part with his children from baseball, football, softball, fishing, shrimping, and was still riding his motorcycle up until he was 82 years old. Nothing was more precious to him than his wife, his children and some very special friends. He never had an unpleasant word to say about anyone and everyone that met him always had the upmost respect for him. He will truly be missed by many that knew him. He was a lifelong member of the East Brent Baptist Church.
It’s not the fact of Keith’s life that is remarkable: it is the character. He lived a life of kindness, devotion and integrity. To his wife and family he was the proverbial wind beneath their wings that assured their family would be cared for. He was the foundation for a stable and loving home. He was a loyal friend that never meets a stranger and would basically give the shirt off his back if that would help.
Keith was preceded in death by his loving wife “Dixie” of 47 years, his parents Clarence and Virgie Meador.
His legacy will be carried on by his three children, Frances (Dale) Brantley, Stonewall La; Sibby Meador and Butch Meador of Pensacola, Fl.
