Gwen D. “Sissy” Pitman passed into the loving arms of the Lord on May 11, 2023.
Gwen was one of the first women Paint Contractors in Pensacola and was a member of Pine Forest Pentecostal Church.
Preceding Mrs. Pitman in death are her husband, Jimmy Pitman; son, Tim Pitman; brother, Leon Mitchell; and son-in-law, John McDonald. Survivors include her son, Eddie Pitman (Angie); daughter, Pam McDonald (Pete); sister, Polly Ward; brothers, Delbert Mitchell (Kathy) and George Mitchell; granddaughter, Laura Pitman; great grandchildren, Ty and Fallon Pitman; and special friends, Sybil Godwin and Kathy V – Candy.
The family will receive friends at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm.
The Celebration of her life will be at 10am Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Hazel Godwin officiating. Burial will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Todd Williams, Bryan Owens, Peck Burkett, Wade Clark, Mike Langford and Bubba Grover. Honorary pallbearers will be Neil Shenberger, Pat McClellan, Steve Pearlman, Wade Hill, Tom Watts and Jim Maxwell.
The family wishes to express their Heart felt ‘Thank You’ to Emerald Coast Hospice for their excellent care given to Gwen over the past weeks.
