Freddie McMurphy Black was born January 15, 1930 in Oak Grove, FL. A Naval veteran served 4 years during the Korean War. He retired from Naval Air Rework Facility. Freddie was known for his ability to create and design just about anything. He loved to fish, do crossword puzzles, play dominoes, checkers, and scrabble. He loved spending time in his garden planting, growing, and sharing his bounty. He made bird houses for the blue birds; he had them all around his yard. He could quote scripture and would share the mighty love of Jesus to everyone that would listen.
Freddie is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Connie. He is survived by his daughters Evelyn (Michael), and Anita (Barry), his grandchildren Holly, Sarah (Justin), Lindsey (Dustin), Lauren (Robert), and Karen (Trevor), his great grandchildren Facil, Mackenzie, Titan, Caroline, Zeek, and William, his sisters Margaret, Janie, Nell, and brother Rudy (Cheryl).
The family will receive friends for visitation at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Saturday, October 10th from 9:30-10:30am with funeral service to follow at 10:30am.
