Elvin Ray Stacey went to his eternal home on July 9th, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife of 66 years Carolyn Stacey.
An ardent family man, Ray worked at American Cyanamid Company for 33 years after leaving the service of the United States Air Force. Throughout his life he walked in the service of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Elvin was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Wiggins Ave where he served in the capacity of Sunday school superintendent as well as church trustee, helping anyone who needed a hand-up. He always found his time well suited in the service of others, whether that be his family or friends who had become family. Through his outstanding service and dedication to the Masonic Brotherhood he was bestowed the great honor of 33 degree mason.
Elvin is preceded in death by his loving mother, Nettie Stacey; father, JD Curtis Stacey; siblings: Curtis ”Buck” Stacey, Eloise Ellis, Maydell Bartley, Helen Stacey Courtney, Doyle Stacey, John Douglas Stacey and Faye Haver.
He will be truly missed by his fiercely dedicated daughter, Teresa Johnson; son, E. Craig Stacey; granddaughter, Brandi Zanthos (Neil); great-grandson, Liam Zanthos; siblings, Linda Peacock (Millard) and Ronald Stacey (Lola); and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 10 AM till the service begins at 11 AM.
His family would like to extend a special and loving thank you to his care team from Covenant Hospice Care of West Florida Hospital, and his home health nurses: Jan, Joe, Samantha, Lindsey, and Chaplain John.
