Elizabeth Jane Diamond, 70, of Pace, Florida was called home to Heaven on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Beth was born on October 14, 1951, in Greenville, South Carolina to Kenneth and Wanda Sumrall. She graduated from Escambia High School and Pensacola Junior College where she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing. Beth dedicated her entire life to taking care of others. She spent her career as a Labor & Delivery nurse at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. She absolutely loved taking care of mothers and babies and touched the lives of countless patients over the years. She loved her coworkers dearly and considered them to be family. Beth not only took care of others as a nurse, but also as a daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She spent years of her life taking care of her family in so many ways, always with a smile on her face and giving as much of herself as she possibly could. She truly lived her life with a servant’s heart. Anyone who knew Beth knows that her sons and grandchildren were her whole world. She loved being a Grammy more than anything!

Beth’s life revolved around her family and the Lord. Her strong Christian faith and devotion to God were unshakable. She overcame many obstacles and challenges in her life and did so with strength, courage, and determination. She believed with her whole heart that she achieved so many great things because of God’s love and grace. Beth also shared a special connection with her church family in Albania. She has said that some of the most fulfilling times in her life were the months she spent in Albania. The relationships she held there brought so much joy to her heart.

Beth is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Wanda Sumrall; brother, John Sumrall; and daughter-in-law, Danielle Diamond.

She is survived by her sons Brandon, Bradly (Shannon), and Brian Diamond; sister Marlene Means (Jonathan); brother Stanley Sumrall (Pat); grandchildren Olivia, Cameron, Raegan, Wyatt, and Maddux Diamond; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  1. Ashton says:

We are friends of Brad and we didn’t personally know Ms Diamond. We raise our children to do the right thing and be good people. It is evident through Brad how great of a person his mother was. She is smiling down from heaven knowing this is true. The greatest achievement as a parent.

I met Beth in 1999 at Baptist Hospital in L&D! She was one of the ladies that molded me into a charge nurse. I always would marvel at how she was an aggressive patient advocate! She was a wonderful nurse and friend, an awesome mother and mother in law and most of all a exceptional grandmother! I loved how she was really sure about who her son Brad should date! 😊 I was always happy to be working on the nights Beth was on! She would tell me when I was right and when make sure I knew when I was wrong! I love my coworker and friend and I know she is with her Lord and Savior! She will be missed but never forgotten❤️ Until we meet again!
