On 27 September, Edward Julian Daly III (Eddie) received his true healing and was called to be in the arms of God. Eddie was a devout Christian and a loving father. Eddie’s greatest joys came from those he loved. He was a devoted husband and father whose strength and love overcame all else. He met his wife, Terri, in the spring of 1980. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on 11 May 1982 where he served faithfully for 23 years, retiring on 31 August 2005. Throughout his military career, he was decorated 7 times, won NCO of The Year, and the Humanitarian Service Medal. Through 7 duty locations, he bolstered a plethora of personal and professional friendships that would continue long after his military retirement.
After the military, he continued to serve his community. He was one of two electrical technicians for Escambia County, maintaining fire suppression systems, cameras, and electric lock systems for the Escambia County Jail among other facilities.
After retiring from Escambia County, he focused on serving his church. After many volunteer events, worships, and study he became a third order knight of the Knights of Columbus, where he continued to serve until he was physically unable to perform his duties.
Throughout his life, Eddie was known for his kindness, devotion, and love of his animals. He will be remembered as an extraordinary Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Animal lover, Public Servant, and Friend.
