Dorothy “Dottie” Margaret Sluka • July 16, 2022

Dorothy “Dottie” Margaret Sluka, 77, of Mary Esther passed away July 16 after a 5-year struggle with Dementia.
Dottie grew up in Inkster, Michigan where she met her loving husband, Daniel. They were married on July 10, 1965, and shared a bond that lasted 57 years and was only broken by her passing. Together they raised two daughters, Kathy and Wendy. Dottie was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Daughter and friend. Dottie was proceeded in death by her father, Joseph Molnar and her mother, Margaret Molnar. She is survived by her daughters Wendy and Kathy, her brothers Cliff, Dennis and Ron and her sister Diane; five grandchildren, Kristen, Zoe, Billy, Quinton and Haley and one great grandchild, Mayden.
Although she would never acknowledge it, Dottie was a very talented and special woman. She took over her brother’s finances during his critical illness. She was the long-term care giver to her mother and father in their later years, managing their finances, doing their shopping and taking them to their scheduled appointments. She also worked with the contractor to oversee the construction of a new home while her husband was on assignment overseas. Among all her talents, the most noteworthy was her cooking. Hungarian chicken paprikash, stuffed cabbage and chicken breast supreme were just a few of the wonderful meals she cooked for family and friends over the years.
She was deeply loved by her husband and family and her passing has left a void that cannot be filled. But she is now free from the grips of the terrible disease that robbed her of so much and is enjoying a new pain free body in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Navarre Gardens and Regency Hospice who worked so faithfully to make her last months as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Visitation will be at the Lewis Funeral Home in Navarre, July 21, 2022 10:00-11:00, followed immediately by a memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Dorothy’s memory to the Alzheimer’s association at https://act.alz.org/donate
