Doris Elizabeth Green • February 6, 2020
Doris Elizabeth (Price) Green, age 85 of Cantonment, Florida, entered the heavenly gates on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family following the sickness of Glioblastoma brain cancer for 9 months. She was born in Beech Bluff, Tennessee in the White Fern community in 1934 and lived in Jackson, Tenn. until 1972. Doris and husband, Arliss, had just moved to Cantonment in March, 2019 after living in Panama City, Florida 46 years. Doris retired as a secretary from Hiland Park Elementary, Panama City, after 21 years service and was secretary for 2 years at Beech Bluff High School in Tennessee, her alma mater. While living in Panama City, Doris was an active member of City Church at Northside for 42 years where she served as a teacher and a cook on some youth mission trips and was a current member of New Beginnings Baptist Church, Pensacola. Doris loved God and was a wonderful Christian wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother finding many ways to bless them all and showing them her love for God and God’s love for them so that they wanted to become one of His children too through Jesus Christ our Lord. Doris was a great cook and loved to cook for her family as well as be with them as often as she could whether it be through visits, vacationing or camping together, and playing many kinds of games. She was interested in everything they did and wanted to be a part of her family’s life in encouragement, love and support. Her favorite place to vacation was Dollywood and the great Smoky Mountains where she and Arliss vacationed alone as well as with their family many times making many wonderful memories. Doris also loved working in her flowers, enjoyed birdwatching loved for it to rain, taking food to neighbors and friends and traveling to Tennessee to see her parents when they were living, and her sisters and brothers and their families often. We will miss Mom but we sure are glad that God has provided a way for her to have a glorious, pain-free time in heaven. We love her and appreciate everything she was to us and did for all of us. Doris was predeceased by her parents, James Thomas and Daisy Mae Price, her brothers, William Franklin and Thomas Ray Price, her brother-in-law, Kenneth Holt.
