Donald “Don” Rickard • January 1, 2022



Donald “Don” Rickard passed away January 1, 2022, at the age of 74 after a courageous battle.

He was born to Robert and Eileen Rickard on February 28, 1947, in Pontiac, Michigan. He resided in Pensacola, Florida for the last 46 years. He was an active member of Heights Baptist Church for many years. He worked in maintenance for Waffle House for 25 years before retiring in 2011.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sandy Thrasher, niece Pam Doyon and great nephew Sam Doyon.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Phyllis, son Michael Rickard, daughter Melissa Thompson, granddaughters Cailey and Emily Thompson all of Pensacola, brother David (Peggy) Rickard of Hudson, Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 9:00 am at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home located at 7433 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola, Florida.

    Don was such a great role model for me growing up and I will miss him. He was a a true servant of the Lord. I always enjoyed our talks and playing softball with him. He touched so many lives in a positive way. My heart goes out to the entire family. Don made this world a better place and I will always be thankful for him.
