Dakota William Johnson, of Pensacola, age 28, passed away unexpectedly on October 21, 2022. Dakota is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Grace Johnson, and a great aunt, Darreen Hart. He is survived by his parents, Bill Johnson of AZ, and Robynn Johnson (Craig Baker) of Crestview, two sisters, Savannah Johnson of Pensacola, Sierra Johnson of Crestview, and one brother, Dylan Johnson of Palm Bay, Florida. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Dewayne and Donna Ulrich of Pace, three aunts and three uncles: Jill and Nathan Billy of Jamestown, TN, Ken and Tash Ulrich of Knoxville, TN, Marianne and James Wicker of Pensacola, and three cousins, Cameron and Carson Billy and Lexi Ulrich. He also left behind many friends that he loved and that loved him.
Dakota was a bright light in his family’s life. He had a smile that was unforgettable as well as a big heart, a kind spirit, and a gentle soul. He loved life, fishing, football, good food, family and friends, and any combination of those things. The world will be a little darker now, without him in it. He was dearly loved!
Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens with visitation beginning Thursday, October 27 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Services to follow on Friday, October 28 at 1:00pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday at 2:00pm at the home of Johnny and Judy Howell.

    Dakota there are no words to describe how this feels. The tears will eventually turn into smiles while thinking of you and remembering all the good times we had.     We have been blessed to have had Dakota as part of the last 15 years. He was my Bonus Son and a sibling to all my children. Anyone that Dakota knew was loved and he never forgot a name or face. Dakota was so loved you could never get mad or stay angry at him, he gave his kindness and heart to all. If anyone knew him he always showed up, never let us down. We will be Celebrating his Life at my home in way of a Party at our home Sunday with music, plenty of food, drink and stories. Please come Dakota loved a good party.

    I love you so much Lil bro & always will! I read somewhere someone wrote “your heart was too big and you were too kind for this cruel world“ and I felt that suited you so well to know you was to love you and everybody loves you! You were “lil bro” or brother to soooo many because everybody considered your family you had a heart of gold and I know you’re in a better place now. Make sure you save a spot for me when it’s my time! I will miss you buddy more than you could ever know! He would check on me more than probably anybody and what’s crazy is you were that for so many people you definitely gave before you ever took that’s very rare these days and pretty much non exhistent!!! Fly high and rest up!

    2 months doesn’t seem like a long time to get to know someone, but I felt like I had known Dakota forever. At the end of the day, I always knew I had a friend who cared. One day, we’ll get our dinner date that we were supposed to have last Saturday. I’ll see you again. Rest easy, Dakota! Thank you for always making me feel like I had a purpose in this world!
