Carolyn Ruth Black, age 70 of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on June 13, 2021. Carolyn was born in Atmore, Alabama and has been in the Pensacola area for 66 years. She worked in management in the food service industry and attended First Freewill Baptist Church.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Desmond Black; mother and daddy, Annie Ruth and Ulysses S. Grant; granddaughter, Deanna “Doof” Stevison; and brothers, Jerry, Charles and Mike Wright.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Wilson (Danny); sons, Anthony Raughton (Lisa) and Timothy Raughton (Stephanie); granddaughters, Savanna Stevison (Jessica), Morgan Wilson (Victor), Deena Raughton, Amber and Ocean Raughton, Nevaeh Raughton, and Brooklyn Villanueva; grandsons, Timothy Raughton, Thomas Raughton, River Paul Raughton, and JJ Villanueva; great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Stevison and Jayla Pearson; great-grandsons, Skyler Paul Madai, Nathan Paul Dixon, Matthew Bumgarner, and Bradlie Bumgarner; brothers, Donald Wright and Scottie Grant (Vickey); sister, Alice Sapp, Janice New (BJ), Linda Ward (Edward), Brenda Stone, and Tammy Gilpin (Scott).
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, June 17, 2021 beginning at 1:00PM, followed by a service at 2:00PM.

    I love you and miss you so much Nanna! I know you and Deanna are having a great time up there! I’m so glad I was lucky enough to be in your life. You will be missed by so many.
