Archie L. Gregory, Sr. • November 11, 2019



A member of East Brent Baptist Church, Archie L. Gregory, Sr, age 98 of Pensacola, Florida went to heaven to be with Jesus about 7PM November 11, 2019. He was a soldier in the United States Army, drafted and sent to fight Nazi’s in WWII. He landed on Omaha Beach, D-Day in the 2nd wave as a tanker under General George Patton. Gizmo was the classified name. He received 4 Bronze Stars and was presented with a 5th Bronze Star but said 4 was enough. He retired from I.B.E.W, Local 676 Pensacola, Florida as a Journeyman wireman.

Funeral Service for Archie L. Gregory will be at 1PM Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Father Thomas Raines officiating. Burial will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 6-8PM at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Gregory is survived by his wife Ethel Ray Gregory, Ethel Mae and Archie, Jr., Tonia, Denise, Archie III and Jennifer. He is also survived by many extended family members and numerous friends.

    Serving as his apprentice over 55 years ago, I can say that Archie was easy going and taught by example. I thank God that I had the pleasure to meet him and to hold him as a friend for all these years.
