Albert “Sonny” W. Martin, Jr. • November 4, 2020
Albert (Sonny) W. Martin, Jr., 66 of Pensacola, FL passed away November 4th, 2020.
Sonny was an extraordinary man who was a dearly loved husband, a proud father and Papa.
He was a lifelong resident of Pensacola, a graduate of Tate High School, and attended Auburn University.
Being an only child, Sonny was close with his cousins and had many stories of their times together fishing and cruising around in his souped up brown Mustang.
He was enjoying retirement after working over 40 years at his dream job in the automotive repair field. Sonny was a long standing member of Liberty Church, and was grateful for every opportunity to serve the Lord. He treasured his church family.
He was an avid SEC fan, who always cheered for the Auburn Tigers. He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
Sonny never met a stranger, easily engaged in conversation, always had a joke and a kind word.
Sonny’s greatest love was his family. In addition to his two children and grandson, when he married Kathy, he was quick to embrace her children and grandchildren as his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert W Martin, Sr. and Betty Ross Martin.
Sonny is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy, his son David, his daughter Brandi, grandson Kamron, stepdaughters, Rachael Hernandez (Ahmet), Mary Callow (Michael), Taylor Steward (fiancé Ryan Murphy) stepson, Tyler Steward, 6 step grandchildren as well as his rescue dogs, Gracie and Roscoe.
