Robert (Bob) Kenneth Trussell, 81, of Elberta, AL went to be with his Heavenly Father on February 15, 2010. He died peacefully surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in Alexander City, AL, grew up in Sylacauga, AL, and moved to Pensacola, FL in 1954. Following retirement, he moved to Elberta, AL.
He was an accomplished athlete and won awards in track and field, tennis, and football in high school and college.
In 1950, he married his sweetheart and enjoyed sixty years of family life with her.
He retired from Monsanto after thirty-eight years of service. He enjoyed gardening, reading, watching football, his children, grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Sammy.
Bob loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Brownsville Assembly of God for thirty years. He was a member of Liberty Church for the past two years.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by one sister, his wife Martha Anne, sons Kent Trussell, Kevin Trussell, daughters Martha Gaye Breeden, Jeanne McGregor, thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and loving friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Church on Blue Angel Parkway with Pastor Buford Lipscomb officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 prior to the memorial service.
