The Lord set Kenneth free from his many years of suffering and took him home to heaven where he will never know pain again – Praise the Lord!
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Lee and Lillian Marie McLemore; brother, James McLemore and Ronald McLemore.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Edna McLemore; sons, Michael McLemore (Debbie) and Kevin McLemore (Michelle); daughter, Tina Skelton (Greg); grandchildren, Michelle Cramer (Mark), Brian Skelton (Heather), Sean McLemore (Chris), Kelly Diokey (Kenneth), Kyle McLemore, Connor McLemore; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Anne Miller and brother, Charles McLemore (Nan) and special nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was employed as a grocery store manager for many years. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict.
All who knew Kenneth were amazed at his endurance. No matter how much pain he was in, if you asked him how he was doing, he would say, “pretty good”. He was a fighter until the end, but he was ready for Jesus to take him home.
The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home until services begin at 12:00 noon. Dr. Dale Patterson will be the officiating clergyman. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Mr. McLemore’s grandsons and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice in Ken’s memory.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Covenant Hospice personnel who ministered to Ken during the last weeks of his life and a very special “thank you” to Ingrid Carlson, Toni Stallworth, Kellye Lee and volunteer Gloria McMillian for their love and compassion. We are blessed to have a loving sister/aunt, Ruth Carey, who was there for all of us in our difficult days.
